Going 2theloo has never been so fancy

2theloo opens first ‘better than at home’ toilet store in London

London, August, 26 2015 – Today at five ‘o clock the international toilet store company 2theloo will open their first UK store in Covent Garden in presence of Margriet Leemhuis, Deputy Head of Mission at the Dutch Embassy in London. The innovative and fun concept from the Netherlands welcomes its guests with a loo cocktail party held in and around the spotlessly clean and fancy toilet store 2theloo.

Public toilets in London
The lack of clean and comfortable public toilets has been a hot topic in London and even a personal mission of Mayor Boris Johnson to change. He stated that, “older people and families with young children in particular find the lack of public loos inconvenient and an incredible burden when out and about. “Everyone should be able to go out and enjoy this great city without worrying about the location of the nearest accessible public toilet”. Reason enough for 2theloo to make their way over to the UK and contribute to solving the public loo problem.

The importance of clean toilets
Recent global consumer research of 2theloo partner SCA -known for global brands TENA and Tork- shows that the most important places when it comes to hygiene concerns are toilets, cafés, showers and public pools. 6 out of 10 female respondents feel that poor hygiene in public spaces limit their lives. 52% of the women state that they have refrained from using public toilets because of hygiene concerns. 2theloo is proven to be a high quality public toilet concept, turning the public toilet from a dissatisfier into a differentiator.

Covent Garden
Covent Garden partnered up with 2theloo to improve the public realm and provide public facilities in the busy shopping area. Offering 'better than at home' toilet facilities is part of the strategy to improve Covent Garden and the Covent Garden Market Building. This collaboration has been the first for 2theloo in the UK but ambitions are to extend in UK’s retail area, railway and petrol.

It’s our mission to make the absolute most of your toilet break, wherever you are. From day one we partnered up with exceptional organizations like SCA and Roca that firmly believe in our ideas and want to grow with us. Together we set the global standard for clean public toilets. The opening of Covent Garden -our first UK store- is a big milestone and brings us one step closer to reaching our mission.

Unique design
The unique design merges the heritage of Covent Garden with the modern style of 2theloo. The intention has been to achieve an inclusive built environment, which enables users to maximize their individual abilities and enjoy safe, independent participation.

Next to clean and comfortable toilets and urinals, the new 2theloo facility will offer a room for families, a make-up corner and a small shop offering gifts, drinks and toiletries. Inspiring visuals linked to Covent Garden and sanitary from Roca will make a 2theloo visit an extraordinary and fun experience. Upon each visit, visitors receive a discount voucher, which they can redeem in the 2theloo shop or in shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.
