2theloo wins National Award for England at Loo of the Year Awards
Promising start for 2theloo in the UK market
London, December 4, 2015 – Only a few months after opening the first toilet store in the UK, 2theloo came out as a National winner for England at the Loo of the Year Awards 2015, held at the St Johns Hotel in Solihull.
The Loo of the Year Awards are held every year since 1987. During this event the best toilet providers from 4 different countries are assessed in various categories.
The first UK 2theloo toilet store has opened its doors this August in Covent Garden, and was shortly after nominated for the ‘2015 Loo of the Year Awards’. Over 1500 entries were received by the organisation this year; the nominated public toilet owners were classified in several categories. 2theloo came out as the winner in the category: ‘Full Time Attended Public Toilets’.
Being awarded for ‘Full Time Attended Public Toilets’ provided direct placement for 2theloo in the ‘National Public Toilet Awards’ for England, in which category winners of the countries England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland competed to be best of their countries in their category. The 2theloo team proudly received the National Category Award for Public Toilet Entries in England and won hereby an independent and valuable assessment of ‘away from home’ toilet provision and was given the platinum standard, which classifies as the highest of the rank.
We are extremely proud to receive the National Award for Public Toilet Entries of England. This is a promising start for the UK market and we’re hoping this will only stimulate our growth in petrol, retail areas and train stations
The aim of this award fits perfectly with the brand promise of 2theloo to create ‘a better than at home’ experience. Winning the National Award for Public Toilet Entries of England makes us one step closer to realizing our mission, to make the absolute most of your toilet break. We are pursuing this mission everyday with exceptional partners such as SCA and Roca.
The Loo Awards
The Loo Awards are owned and run independently and since their introduction in 1987, the competition has helped put the focus the spotlight on 'away from home' toilets and is now considered as 'the loo standard'. The awards are supported by the national tourism bodies of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Jersey.
The story of 2theloo started in 2011 when Eric Treurniet and Almar Holtz, two Dutch entrepreneurs, opened their first 'better than at home' toiletstore in the centre of Amsterdam. The mission of 2theloo is to make the absolute most of your toilet break, wherever you are. After opening its first store 2theloo has shown an impressive growth which resulted in almost 200 toilet stores in 14 countries. By the end of 2015 more than 100 milion people have visited a 2theloo facility.
